4/21/08 - Such a difficult goodbye... so difficult that I backed my car into a ditch. Left around 4:30 so that he could hike 11 mi to Chestnut Knob shelter before dark.

• Arrived around 9ish.
• Shelter was packed with people... even Naked Ron was there!

4/22/08 - Fairly uneventful day...

• 1st half of the day was pretty horrible followed by a nice & easy ridge-line walk to the interstate and then another climb to the shelter.
• Cold & rainy - in the 50's.
• 1st trail magic in a long time - cooler full of Gatorade provided by a local United Methodist church.
• Mid day surprise: someone left 6 rolls of Charmin Ultra at Jenkins shelter - SCORE!
• All in all hiked 24 miles to Helveys Mill Shelter.
