I know you are but what am I...

5/13/08 - Packed up & called trail angel, Margaret, for an 8:30 am shuttle back to the trail.

  • Hello Shenandoah! 73 degrees, bright blue skies, sunshine, a light breeze (you're welcome Half-brew).
  • Hiked 5 mi in and took a break near a series of radio towers. Short break turned into recess when the radio towers started to look more & more like jungle gym heaven...
  • Ran into 4 people that just started hiking today. Two of them were section hiking to NY & the other two were planning on a flip-flop thru-hike (hiking the entire AT entirely out of order). Half-brew convinced them to do 20 miles today & by the time they reached the shelter, all four reported being so exhausted that they planned on zeroing tomorrow... oops.
  • Spent a good portion of the day along Skyline Drive waving at tourists & trying to get them to wave back - super leisurely & the easiest 20 miles yet!
  • Staying at Blackrock Hut.
